General Membership Meeting Minutes

Call to Order/Opening Remarks
President Amanda Ramcharan called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.
Officer Update
Officer McClendon was proud to announce that crime in the neighborhood is down about 5%, compared to the year before. Additionally, the infamous “golf cart pirate” has been caught.
Committee Roundup
Membership: Christina Del Azodi, chair of the Membership Committee, announced that she is looking for people to sign up to host the socials in 2026. Hosts can typically expect about 50 guests; SRG provides $200 for refreshments, plus an additional $50 Vincent’s giftcard as a “thank you” for hosting. Christina also announced that license plate covers and roster booklets are now available.
Safety: no announcements.
Beautification: Wade Weistreich, representing the Beautification Committee, proudly announced the beautification raised $11,800 at its recent events. Additionally, there will be a neighborhood cleanup on 11/15.
CI&E: Brad Pitlyk, chairman of the Community Involvement and Events committee, announced there will be a showing of Lilo and Stitch on 11/15 at 5:45pm. Additionally, he plans to organize a Christmas decorating contest.
Communications: no announcements.
Development: Andrew Paniello, on behalf of Jim Dallas, announced that Oktoberfest was a major success for the development committee. There will be new merchandise, soon, though the merchandise will debut in 2026.
PRT: Walker Hamilton issued several updates on properties at 1000 Barton, 2122 South 7th, 1809 South 7th, and 812 Soulard Street. Most are in the process of planning their next step. Additionally, some rubble had been removed on 10th Street.
Historical: Neil Putz provided an update for the Historical Committee, noting that the time capsule had been procured. We are working on obtaining the artifacts; Allyson and Wade are helping with related materials. There will be a letter writing party at a date TBD. The tentative date for burying the capsule is July 12th, 2026.
Parlour: the Parlour Tour plan is being finalized. Tickets are already on sale and are going fast!
Station: Topher filled in for Bonita, playing “Always on the Sunny Side” in her honor. He briefly discussed finding winter homes for plants, an upcoming Thanksgiving Walk, and Ladies Night, scheduled for 11/11.
KVV: Topher continued his speech with KVV updates, noting that Santa is coming to Soulard on 12/13 and that the Regency-themed KVV Ball will take place on 1/31. Additionally, a $750 quarterly grant is now open, accepting submissions.
Treasurer’s Report
Neil Putz, Treasurer, announced that our asset accounts have increased, totalling about $86,000. Major line items included Oktoberfest, the Molly’s Donation, fundraiser, and the Parlour Tour. Neil also said he will begin reporting all expenses over $1,000.
Secretary’s Report
Andrew Paniello, Secretary, announced that the most recent meeting minutes from October had been posted.
Aldermanic Update
AJ spoke on behalf of Jamie Cox-Antwi, the Ward 8 Alderwoman. Major updates included a new bill that limits golf cart usage, new legislation that could limit data centers, and changes to the recycling plan. The City will be working closely with neighborhood groups for Mardi Gras planning.
City Update
James Simpson, City Liaison, informed us that there will be a new snow plan, which will salt major routes 12 hours before an expected storm. Additionally, there will be a food drive from November 4th to 14th at City Hall. The recycling center have been doing well. Paint Louis had limited fallout.
Organization Roundup
SBA: Jim Lettau announced that the SBA is preparing Mardi Gras merchandise–this year will be tie-dye themed. Jesse Donovan’s art won the poster contest and will be featured throughout Mardi Gras season.
SSBD: no updates.
CID: Terry Hoffman had several updates for the the CID; the CID is hiring a consultant for the comprehensive plan, the RFP went public, and the CID is hoping to make a final decision by February. Other updates included a potential RFP for a historical scripting library, banner applications made to the city, new trash cans, and the collection of bids for supplemental winter/salting services. 2026 will be a big year for the CID.
MGI: no updates.
Legion: no updates.
PNP: Bill Rowe, representing a group called “People Not Politicians” requested signatures for a petition that will limit Missouri’s redistricting plans. The organization’s goal is to put the redistricting effort on a state-wide referendum.
SLU: Kit, a Master’s of Public Health candidate at SLU, is gathering data about the health of our neighborhood. A QR code was made available to the membership.
Billy was proud to announce that 200 Parlour Tour tickets were already sold!
President’s Report
Amanda Ramcharan, president, welcomed Mary Schlesinger to The Board. She then made several announcements, including that there will be community outreach as revamp the Soulard Market, our lawsuit has filed a 60-Day service extension, and that The Board is working with AB-Inbev to discuss parking near the Brewery Lights. Additionally, there will be a zoning workshop on 12/3, where citizens can have their voices heard.
The meeting adjourned at 8:16.
