Amanda Ramcharan called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.

Treasurer’s Report

Neil Putz, Treasurer, reported that the total assets on hand had increased, reaching a healthy level of $99,831. This increase was caused by payments processed from Oktoberfest, early Parlour Tour ticket sales, and more. Neil also discussed mentioning all purchases over $1,000, in future meetings, in order to increase transparency. Lastly, we briefly discussed ways to communicate reminders/relay crucial information regarding the Parlour Tour.

Secretary’s Report

Andrew Paniello, Secretary, announced that he will miss the December General Membership Meeting. He thanked Mary Schlesinger for stepping in to take notes in his absence. He also asked for a vote on the previous minutes, which the Board approved, and mentioned that all email votes will be retroactively added to old meeting minutes.

Committee Round-Up

  • Beautification: the cleanup on Saturday (11/15) was a big success. There will likely be another, similar effort in the near future.

  • CI&E: the committee held a successful showing of Lilo & Stitch in Pontiac Square Park. The committee is also organizing a holiday light decorating contest.

  • Development: the committee, after a successful year of events, is revisiting the concert series–more information to come. At least some of the concerts will likely be in conjunction with other events, such as Bastille Day. KPIs that will be considered next year include total attendance and sales.

  • Communications: no updates.

  • Historical: the committee has made a final decision on a time capsule, which will cost $897–the budget will be adjusted accordingly. There will likely be a letter writing party (on acid-free paper) in the near future.

  • Membership: there were no membership updates–however, we wanted to emphasize that the December social will take place at the Station.

  • Parlour Tour: the Parlour Tour Committee is preparing for the big event! Final preparations include deciding on Santa, volunteer coordination, and marketing. Volunteer training will take place at the Station on 11/23. Tickets for the after party will be $25.

  • PRT: we briefly discussed a home at 2400 11th Street that had improperly placed a fence against the sidewalk. We also briefly discussed what might happen with the buildings at the SW intersection of Sidney and 13th.

  • Station: the Station plans to begin preparing for the Parlour Tour starting on 11/24, with a kickoff event hosted by the Ladies of Soulard. The Station will host the December social and AB-InBev has generously decided to donate some surplus beer and seltzers. The committee is planning to work on drywall soon, with plans to replace the stucco in the spring. Cost details for these projects will be provided soon.

  • Safety: the safety committee is still looking for a new chairperson. We briefly discussed the idea of using drones for security, the 8th Amendment, robocop, and related topics.

President’s Report

Amanda announced that the lawsuit against the owner of 1222 Allen Avenue is slowly, but surely, moving along. There have been some challenges regarding the service of the lawsuit. Additionally, the parking lot next to the gas station has been sold to the gas station, which might make the final sale of the property a bit more difficult. Nevertheless, we are looking to move forward from multiple angles, including the possibility of creating a working group of people interested in the project (Trivers, developers, etc.).

The Soulard CID has placed an RFP, regarding the economic plan, on their website. The Board will do our darnedest to review this before our next meeting, where we will then discuss how much we want to contribute.

Adjourn

The meeting adjourned at 8:06pm.
