Agenda

Call to Order/Opening Remarks

Amanda Ramcharan called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.

Jami Cox-Antwi

Snow Update: The city snow plan is available on the city website. The response plan includes pretreating all snow routes with a salt solution, except when significant rain is expected or temperatures fall below 20 degrees. During a snow event, crews first fully clear arterial, secondary, and hill routes, then remove snow buildup at intersections before determining additional support for side streets, with all available staff mobilized if significant ice develops. For normal snowfall (under 1 inch per hour), arterial and secondary routes are cleared continuously and alternately, while severe snowfall prioritizes arterial routes first and secondary routes with reduced frequency. To strengthen capacity, the City maintains a contingency contract for extreme events, is expanding its salt supply to 15,000 tons for the season and is developing a pilot salt bank for residents. The snowplow fleet has been upgraded with new trucks and replacements for older equipment, and on-call pay is being increased to encourage more CDL-certified employees to assist with snow removal.
