SRG General Meeting Minutes

June 4, 2014

 

Meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m. by President Nancy Kelly

 

Board Members in Attendance:  President Nancy Kelly; Past President Jill Weissgerber; Treasurer Alicia Stellhorn; Editor Jackie Parker; Directors Sean Cochran, Michael Pastore, Luann Denten, Beth Bennett, and Jeremy Mehrle

 

  1. Police Report by Officer Brian Minn

    1. 3-4 daytime burglaries in the past month – suspect in mind and police are working the case

    2. 3 arrests have been made (2 from a robbery last year in which defendants are in sentencing phase; 1 from robbery on 5/22/14 on 1700 S. Tucker

  2. Guest – Casey Kebedoux from Kaboom Playground Project

    1. Need volunteers to help build playground at Boys Club

  3. Announcements

    1. Social at 902 Russell hosted by Paul Sharp & Tracy Pettit

    2. Soulard Concert Series

  4. Old Business             

    1. Decorative fencing project around ATT boxes in Pontiac Park approved

    2. Secretary Minutes – Approved

    3. Treasurer Report – Approved

  5. New Business

    1. Volunteer Star Awards presented to Linda Kurdi and Billy Tomber

  6. Committee Reports

    1. Beautification:  $10,000+ raised at Molly’s annual fundraiser and a big thanks to Luke Reynolds for hosting; AB & Bosh & Lomb sponsored cleanup at Aboussie Park and the 7th Street median on 6/5/14 – volunteers needed; Garden Tour in 3 weeks and volunteers needed

    2. PRT:  Subway is now open; will work with Kaboom on standards for playground shade structure; congrats and thanks to Jay Gibbs for having been in SRG for 31 years!

    3. Communications:  Nextdoor allows you to mute users to avoid conversation threads; the new Renessance edition is out

    4. Fundraising:  Go Marathon Cheer Station raised $1,000; Tap ‘n’ Run raised approximately $6-7,000; SRG not doing beer booth at Taste of St. Louis due to move to Chesterfield; Oktoberfest (10/10-12/2014) is next fundraiser and has been moved to 7th Street parking lots;

    5. Safety:  Next meeting is June 23, 2014

    6. MGI:  Volunteers needed for STL Uncorked

    7. Residential Promotion:  Deadline for entryway marker proposal is closed and 4 designs were submitted; potluck is Sunday in Pontiac Park – special thanks to Vincent’s Market for donating the ham; Bastille en Vogue will take place on July 13, 2014

    8. Soulard Station:  Sound system has been installed

    9. Membership:  Annual SRG night at Gateway Grizzlies on August 9, 2014 – tickets for sale
